From Ancient Chinese Classics to Modern Nashville: My Journey into Classical Feng Shui
Several years ago, I made a decision that transformed both my Feng Shui practice and my understanding of the art itself: I committed to studying the original classical texts in Traditional Mandarin.
My formal training is rooted in the Wu Chang Pai lineage thrrough American College of Classical Feng Shui with Feng Shui Master Denise Denis, but I soon realized that true mastery requires going beyond modern interpretations and returning to the source material itself.

Today, much of my study involves translating and decoding classical manuals such as the Han Long Jing (撼龍經), Qing Nang Jing (青囊經), and other traditional texts that have shaped Chinese feng shui & geomancy for centuries.
Studying these texts has changed how I approach every consultation. Rather than relying solely on formulas, I now place even greater emphasis on understanding landforms, qi dynamics, environmental context, and the relationship between classical theory and real-world conditions.
What makes this journey especially exciting is applying these ancient principles to contemporary Nashville.
Over the coming months, I will continue publishing Classical San He Feng Shui analyses of Nashville businesses, cultural sites, historical locations, and neighborhoods. My goal is not only to educate, but also to demonstrate how traditional Chinese Feng Shui principles remain remarkably relevant in the modern world.
I was recently honored to have my work and perspective featured by journalist Amelia Edelman, whose work has appeared in major publications including Yahoo Life, NPR, BBC, and others. Opportunities like this remind me that there is growing interest in authentic, classical approaches to Feng Shui.
The deeper I study, the more I realize that these ancient masters were not simply creating formulas—they were recording observations about nature, landscape, human behavior, and our relationship with place.
This is only the beginning.
